WELCOME TO ATENDER1’S PUPPIES

Making Families Happy One Puppy at a Time!

At aTender1’s Puppies we are passionate about our dogs. We love helping people find the perfect new addition for their families and enjoy a reputation as a kind and caring Dog Breeder.

We are a licensed (#F702) and inspected breeder in the State of Maine. We have been breeding dogs since April of 2000. All of our puppies are raised in our home and are not kept in cages. We do not sell to pet shops, puppy mills or to brokers. The dogs and puppies are part of our family and receive a lot of love and attention. We breed primarily Maltepoos and Morkies. Occasionally, Maltese and Toy Poodles. They all make wonderful, loyal, loveable dogs that are full of personality and are very easy to train. These breeds are low to non shed and work out well with those that have allergies. We take great pride in the puppies we have to offer and this is what we base our reputation on. we offer many references. I am available 24/7 to the new puppy owner if there is ever any problems or questions. If you would like to be put on a contact list, place a deposit for a puppy or have any questions... please e-mail at the address below. If you call, please leave a message and if do not hear back from me... please call again. I try my very best to return all calls and e-mails as promptly as I can.

I am available at any time to answer any questions and to help out with any concerns before, after and during the time you have your puppy/dog.

Thanks for visiting!

WHO WE ARE

My name is Renee' Banovich, I was born and raised in Illinois. I lived in Houston, Texas for about 2 years, Tullahoma, Tennessee for 1 year and Apopka, Florida for about 6 months. I moved to Maine in November of 1993 and would never want to live anywhere else.

Sherwood, my significant other was born and raised in Maine. We have raised seven children between us. We are blessed with 16 Grandchildren!!

I was raised with Toy Poodles since I was born. I had two white Poodles named, Lisa and Moose when I was a toddler. When they passed away we got a another Toy Poodle named, Fifi, for a surprise Christmas gift. I have always had a love for animals. I have never been without a dog in my life.

I started breeding dogs in 1999. My 1st litter was a Golden Retriever/ Cocker Spaniel litter. The mom was a Golden/Cocker and the dad was a Cocker Spaniel. What great pups they had. They looked like mini Goldens. I had several litters of these before retiring the parents.

I met a woman, through a man that got a Golden Cocker puppy from me. She wanted to know if I ever thought of breeding Cockapoos. She currently had owned a Cockapoo and wanted another.

I then bred Cockapoos for many years, Peekapoos for a few years, Shihpoos for a couple years and then settling on Maltepoos and Morkies. I have found that the hybrids produce a much healthier, happy family dog.

I am very devoted to our dogs and puppies. My days and nights, weeks and weekends, holidays and vacations are mostly spent with the dogs. I do not get away very often but I do try to at least once or twice a year.

I very much enjoy seeing new families come to pick up their puppy. What a wonderful day it is to see the children and adults with their new puppy.

Puppies/dogs are so full of unconditional love. They are always there and they never want to leave our side no matter what. Who could ask for anything better? This is why I do my best to produce the healthiest puppy I can so the new owner can spend many years with their new companion and family member.

Many ask if I sell puppies to families with small children. Of course I do. What a shame to not allow a family and their children the joy of raising a puppy. This was one of the greatest most memorable moments in my life...my childhood with my dogs. I was known as the little blonde girl with the Poodle in the baby carriage walking down the street. I do however, use more caution with our tiny ones going to homes with very young children. I will talk it over and suggest one that is a bit larger in size.

I currently have 4 house dogs. They are Itsy (Toy Poodle), Cricket (Maltepoo), Midget (Maltepoo) and Beasley (Hungarian Pumi).
In 2006, a kennel was built next to the house that now has my office, small store, and houses my moms and dads. This is where I now spend 80% of my days. All the dogs can go in and out a doggy door as they want into a large fenced in area. They have heat and air conditioning as needed throughout the year. They have a 24 hour radio going. They have the best of it all. I do everything I can to make sure they have everything they need to be happy. This includes my time with them all daily.

All of my adult dogs are vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper, Adenovirus II, Parvo and Parainfluenza. I also treat them monthly with a flea/tick preventative.

When a female is nearing her due date to give birth to her puppies I will move her into the house.  Shortly after the pups eyes open (10-14 days) they are then moved into my kitchen or living room in their whelping box so they can be more socialized. Once they start to walk I then move them and mom into the kennel building as it is easier to clean up after them until ready to go to their new homes. They get socialized everyday!

One of our favorite things is getting pictures, e-mails, and letters from the puppy/dog owners. I am very proud of the puppies I have brought into this world and have been very fortunate that they have gone into some wonderful homes where they get all the love and attention they deserve.

I have a few vets that I use for all of our vet needs. I could not do what we do without their services.

So, this is my long story made short of who I am, how I got started, and where I'm at. Making families happy with a healthy happy puppy is my goal and what makes all I do worth it.
